This is a journal for a character in the RPG alternate_u. Please do not friend it unless you are in that game.

Canon History: Zack ran away from home at age 13-14, travelling across the world to join the Shinra 'security division'. He spent less than a year as a regular trooper before passing the exams to become a SOLDIER, one of a special elite squad of fighters. Their abilities are enhanced by exposure to mako, the substance of magic and all life. He fought in the Wutai war, racing his way up the ranks from 3rd Class to 1st Class in less than two years. He worked personally with Sephiroth, the general and hero of the war, and is generally considered something of a shining star.

AU Backstory: Zack is from Gongaga, a small town near Timmins in Northern Ontario - essentially the middle of nowhere. He is the Golden Boy, the one who seems to succeed at everything he does, and you want to resent him for it but he's so damn nice that it's difficult to hate him. He was prom king, valedictorian, student council president and captain of the track team. His classmates voted him both 'most popular' and 'most likely to succeed'. He has made it to the provincial level of competition all four years of high school, and to the national level in his senior year.

Although he makes it look like it all comes easy to him, Zack works hard for what he achieves. He gets up early to practice, stays late after school to practice, and studies long and hard for his grades. He takes his responsibilities as both captain and president very seriously, not only because he is hoping it will look good on his university application but because he has a strong sense of duty and responsibility.

Physical Appearance: Brown haired and blue-eyed, Zack stands at 5'10" and has the build of an athlete. He's got strong legs from training for sprinting, but his shoulders are just as muscled from the pole vault. He keeps his hair short and spikes it on top and at the back. He can generally be found wearing casual clothes; worn jeans, scuffed combat boots, and comfortable t-shirts or sweaters. He's got pierced ears and usually wears small silver studs in both ears, but no other piercings or tattoos. Most of the time he comes across as a 'clean cut hometown boy'.

Okay, I suck at these bio things. Who ever knows what to say when you have to blather on about yourself? You end up either sounding like you're boasting, pathetic, or both.

I'm from the ass-end of nowhere, otherwise known as Gongaga, Ontario. If you've never heard of it, I'm not shocked. It's a little mining town up near Timmins - and I think even most people in Timmins don't know where it is. Needless to say, I'm sure, I'm glad as hell to be out of there.
